Tour Program

Day 01: Maumere – Moni

The tour starts as you get on a plane and fly to Maumere. Our driver will pick you up and drive you to Sikka Village. There, you will be able to see the local community and their hand-weaving process. In Sikka Village, there is a historic Catholic church that was built by the Portuguese during the colonial era in the 16th century.

After that, our driver will take you to the Paga district where you can visit Nua Bari Village. This is a unique village that is known to hold their ancestor’s skulls on gravestones. You will be able to hear so many legendary and mythical stories in this village. You will continue the journey to see Jopu’s traditional house. This is a unique house that has been standing for thousands of years.

The last destination of the first day is Moni Village. This is a village near Kelimutu Lake, which is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Flores. Our driver will take you to a hotel where you will be staying. You will also have dinner at the hotel. And this is where the first day of the Komodo Flores overland tour 10 days ends.

Day 02: Moni Village– Kelimutu Tri-Color Likes – Bajawa

On the second day of the tour, you will wake up early to drive to Kelimutu Lake. This lake is also known as the three-colored lake. Kelimutu Lake consists of three lakes with three different colors. Once you have arrived at the parking lot, you will hike 275 steps to get to the top of the lake. If the weather is nice, you might even get a chance to see the gorgeous sunrise. That is why you have to take a lot of pictures.

After you visit Kelimutu Lake, our driver will take you back to your hotel to get some breakfast. The tour continues as our driver takes you to Ende. You will be able to visit the Bung Karno Museum. Our driver will then take you to Mataloko where you can have lunch. You will also visit Nagekeo’s traditional house. In that house, you will be able to see giant buffalo horns that have been on the house since thousands of years ago. Your next destination will be Wogo Village where you will be able to admire the unique construction of the local people in the Ngada region. After that, our driver will take you to Bajawa where you will have dinner and stay for the night.

Day 03: Bajawa – Bena Village – Ruteng

You continue the next day of the Komodo Flores overland tour 10 days by having breakfast at the hotel. Afterward, our driver will take you to the south part of the town. You will pass the Inerie Mountain, a very large volcano mountain near Bajawa. Our driver will take you to Bena, where you will be able to see the biggest traditional house in Flores made out of megalith stones and hand-weaved materials.

Once you have explored Bena, you will be taken to the Aimere district. There, you will be introduced to the local alcoholic drink in Flores Island, which is ARAK. ARAK is a strong alcoholic drink that is made from palm trees. The locals process this drink by distilling palm juice. After that, you will continue your journey to Borong, where you will have lunch at a local restaurant. Our driver will take you to Ruteng next. But you will stop at Ranamese Lake on the slope of Ranaka Mountain, which is the highest mountain in Flores Island. You will be able to witness the biggest rainforest in the province.

In the afternoon, you will drive to Ruteng Pu’u’s traditional house. This is a traditional house of the Manggaraian ethnic group. You will be able to see the unique construction of the house. You will then be taken to a hotel to have dinner and stay for the night.

Day 04: Ruteng – Wae Rebo Traditional Village

On day 4 of this tour, you will have breakfast at the hotel before driving to Todo Village. In Todo Village, you can find a drum that was made from a girl’s skin during the kingdom era. This drum can normally be seen when the locals are having a ceremony. You will continue your journey by driving to Denge Village to have lunch.

You will get the opportunity to trek to the high land and visit Wae Rebo Village. The trek takes about 3-4 hours through the local trail. You will make several stops to see a wonderful nature that the trail has to offer.

The locals at Wae Rebo Village will welcome you with open arms. You will be able to see their unique way of life in nature. You will have dinner at the village while enjoying the cool weather on this high land. The locals will provide you with traditional foods for dinner. You will also stay the night there.

Day 05: Full Day Wae Rebo Village

You are going to spend day 5 in Wae Rebo Village. You will get the chance to accompany the locals in their day-to-day lives. You can climb trees, gather firewood, get water, and so many more. You will have lunch with the locals and shower in the river in the evening. You will stay another night in this village.

Day 06; Wae Rebo Village – Lembor District

After getting breakfast in Wae Rebo Village, you will trek back down to Denge Village. Our driver will drive you along the coast to Lembor district. You will be able to meet the locals in Lembor and stay the night. In the evening, you can accompany the locals to hunt eels and frogs around the area. You will also use the available crops for your dinner.

Day 07; Lembor – Cunca Rami – Mbeliling Mountain

On the next day of this Komodo Flores overland tour 10 days, you will spend the day with the locals at Lembor until lunchtime. You can accompany them while they are working in the rice fields. When it is time for lunch, our driver will take you to Cunca Rami Waterfall. You will have to trek to this waterfall from Werang. You will be able to spend some time in the waterfall before trekking 3 hours to the top of Mbeliling Mountain. You will be able to witness the beautiful nature on your way to the top. At the top of the mountain, you will camp out and spend the night there.

Day 08: Mbeliling – Labuan Bajo – Rinca Island

After getting breakfast on the top of Mbeliling Mountain, you will hike down to Roe Village. Our driver will take you to Labuan Bajo, which is the western part of Flores Island. You will get on a boat in Labuan Bajo to go to Rinca Island. Once you have arrived in Rinca Island, you will trek for 2 hours to witness Komodo dragons in their natural habitat. You will also be able to see much other wildlife such as buffaloes, horses, boars, and many more. You will then get back to the boat to go to Kalong Island. You will be able to see thousands of flying foxes coming out of the mangrove trees. You will have dinner on the boat.

Day 09: Kalong – Komodo Island – Manta Point – Labuan Bajo

You will start day 9 of the tour going to Komodo Island pretty early. You will get another chance to see the Komodo dragons. You will then go to Sabita ranger post to trek with rangers from Komodo National Park. After you are done with trekking, you will be able to go to Manta Point to snorkel and swim on the clear water. If you are lucky, you might be able to see some manta rays in this snorkeling spot. You will have your lunch on the boat that will take you back to Labuan Bajo. After that, you can stay at a hotel in Labuan Bajo and have dinner there.

Day 10: Labuan Bajo – Mirror Stone Cave – Bali

On the last day of the Komodo Flores overland tour 10 days, you will be able to enjoy the view of the Mirror Stone Cave. This is a tunnel of dark rocks that are touched by sun rays. The sun rays are reflected on the walls of the cave, which look pretty amazing. After that, you will have breakfast and visit the local market.
