Day 1: Arrival – Labuan Bajo City Tour
On your arrival in Labuan Bajo, you will be picked-up by our team and directly transfer to Melo Village. Melo Village offers a variety of activities, including exciting cultural performances such as the traditional bamboo pole jumping game, Tetek Alu; the Ndundu Dake dance; and the well-known Caci. The Compang To’e cultural cooperative will be eager to welcome you with a traditional ceremony.
After exploring the Melo Village, we will back to city of Labuan Bajo to visit Batu Cermin Cave. Also known as Mirror Rock, offers a unique natural phenomenon that occurs in this cave. At certain times, during low tide, parts of the cave walls made of limestone will reflect the reflection of the water that looks like a mirror. This optical effect creates a magical and mysterious atmosphere in the cave, which makes the traveling experience even more interesting.
We will have our stay at hotel in Labuan Bajo area. Have a rest before the next day we start the real overland journey of Flores.
Day 2: Labuan Bajo – Wae Rebo
Day second of your journey to the Wae Rebo Village. You will be picked up by team from your hotel in Labuan Bajo area in the morning. Head first to Denge Village with 5 to 6 hours drive from Labuan Bajo. During the long drive, you will stop at the local restaurant along the way to have lunch in Dintor area. Once we arrive at Denge Village, bring your only most needed things in your bag because we will start trekking from down up to Wae Rebo Village for about 3 to 4 hours through the forest.
Once we arrive at the destination, you will be welcomed by the fresh view of the Wae Rebo Village that located in the highland. Take a while for rest, and then you can explore around the village and have an interaction with the locals, enjoy the culture and their daily routine. We will have an overnight at the Mbaru Niang, the traditional house in Wae Rebo, and served with local dish for dinner.
Day 3: Wae Rebo – Ruteng
Wake up in the morning to see the serene sunrise from the highland surrounded with the greenish view of the village. Before leaving the village, we will serve with the local dish for breakfast to give you energy for trekking down to Denge Village where the journey starts and the car is waiting. Morning trekking after the breakfast will be extraordinary experience and sure you can witness the panoramic view all around.
Once we arrived at the Denge Village and meet the team, we will proceed to transfer to Cara Village for some sightseeing of the Spider Web Rice Field. Having lunch before continue to Ruteng for overnight stay.
Day 4: Ruteng – Bajawa
From Ruteng, we will continue the journey to Bajawa. After breakfast, we will not just do the direct transfer to the next destination. On the way we will also have some stops.
First will be stop at Rana Mese Lake for short sightseeing. We will not take much time in this object because we will have long journey ahead. Rana Mese is located in Golo village, it is a mountainous lake that impressed with its dense forest and deep crater lake. After a short sightseeing at Rana Mese lake, we will have our lunch before continuing the drive to Aimere.
Once arrive at Aimere Village, we will do a very unique activity, that is see and observing the traditional distillation of the local wine. You might have the opportunity to taste the traditional local wine!
And then we will move forward to Bajawa. Before we check-in for the accommodation, wrapping the long journey with the stunning sunset from Wolobobo Hill must be a thing!
Day 5: Bajawa – Riung
Breakfast will be served and we will continue our journey of exploring the Flores Island. From Bajawa, we will head to Bena Village. It is a traditional Village of Ngada People that rich in megalith culture.
We will explore the village and learn about the relics Malanage Hot spring. Enjoy the relaxing time at the natural hot spring under the foot of Mount Inerie which is a combination of two rivers.
After the historical exploration in Bena Village, the journey will be continue to Riung. It is quiet long journey so you might have some sleep during the drive for about 2 hours and half. Sitting on the northern part of Flores Island, Riung is the gateway to the dazzling Marine Park
Day 6: Riung 17 Island
In this day, we will explore the 17 Islands Marine Park of Riung. A very exciting island hoping activity to have in this overland journey that add the variety of exploration in Flores Island.
17 Islands Riung is a National Marine Park that has an absolute beautiful landscape. This stunning archipelago consists of beaches and islands. The idyllic island is perfectly counterbalance to the central Flores that chilly highland and villages that we have been stepping.
in 17 Island we will take on boat and do the island hopping from one island to another. There will be in Ontoloe Island the home of bats, Rutong Island for underwater snorkelling, also Tiga and Tembang Island to perfects the sightseeing of this island hopping.
Day 7: Riung – Moni
After an overnight rest last night after the unforgettable island hoping experience, we will continue the journey from Riung to Moni. It is a long journey with 4,5 hours drive duration. We will have stop at restaurant for lunch. Nearly reach the Moni village, we will do a visit to Wologai Village and Coffee Plantation.
Wologai Village is a traditional village has been stands for around 800 years old with deep meaningful traditional building form that become the uniqueness of this traditional village. The building lies before the commencement of Construction that must carried out by a “Naka Wasu” ritual. A sacred ritual namely by slaughtering a chicken then cutting down a tree in the forest at midnight. Aside from the unique house building, this villages holds a very interesting cultural heritage.
And then we are moving to the Coffee Plantation before we finish this day journey in Moni Village for overnight rest. Located in highland, with fresh and chilly environment. In short stop we will do a little learning about the coffee plantation.
Day 8: Moni – Kelimutu – Ende
The last day would start earlier than the days before. We will start moving at 04:00 AM because we have to catch the witching sunrise. Drive to Kelimutu National Park.
We will do a light trekking to the sunrise spot. Sip hot drinks while sunlight wakes the spiritual volcanic crater and learn about local beliefs and folklore. We will also be able to witness the gorgeous three-colored lake of Lake Kelimutu from the top. Pleased with the view of the Kelimutu Park, we will back to lodge to have breakfast, and refresh before we depart to Ende for the drop off service.
The long memorable overland journey in Flores is finished. We will end the journey by dropping you at the airport for your next journey in other part of Indonesia, or going back to the lovely home. Please note that the flight departure must be above 12:00 – 13:00 PM.
