Day 1: Maumere or Ender – Moni

The starting point of this tour is Ende or Maumere that is located on the east part of Flores Island. A professional driver will pick you up from the hotel or airport in the two cities, based on your request. If you choose to start from Maumere, the journey will take +/- 100KM. If you want to cut the trip, starting the tour from Ende will be the best option to take. This is because the distance from Ende to Moni Village is only +/- 60KM. Then, The driver will take you to Moni Village in a comfortable car with AC to keep you cool during the hot temperature of Flores. On your way to Moni Village, the car will stop by at some nice places. This will allow you to admire the natural beauty of the places. Some of them also provide you with tenun ikat, one of the most famous bundle woven fabrics on earth made by local people. Moni Village itself is known as the gate to Kelimutu Volcano, a spectacular tourist destination where you will stay a night before continuing your trip to the mountain.

Day 2: Moni – Riung

The second day of your Flores Island overland tour 7 days will be started early in the morning from Moni Village to the famous Kelimutu Volcano. The journey itself will take around an hour. Then, you will follow a trekking path to Kelimutu Summit to visit its famous lake. Kelimutu Lake itself is a part of Mount Kelimutu National Park. Believed as a resting place of departed souls by local people, the lake has 3 different amazing colors of turquoise, black, and brown that come from dissolved minerals. However, the colors of the lake are often unpredictable. Sometimes the lake appears to have green, black, and blue colors. While some other days, the Kelimutu Lake looks to have blue, red, and white. After visiting Kelimutu Volcano with its beautiful lake, you will be taken back to your hotel for breakfast and then continue the tour to Ende. Along the way to the city, you will have opportunities to stop by some beautiful places to take pictures. Then, the tour will be continued to Riung to stay a night there and stop by at Punggawa Beach for relaxing.

Day 3: 1 Day Tour to Riung 17 Islands Marine Park

Right after an enjoyable breakfast, you will head to the nearest harbor in Riung. There, you will take a local wooden boat to explore the Seventeen Island Sea Park. The boat will take you to some other island around Flores. These include Kalong Island that is very popular for its giant bat population. Here, you will see an amazing phenomenon where thousands of fruit bats fly around mangrove trees cover the island. From Kalong Island, the trip will continue to Bako/ Tembang Island, still on a boat. The route also includes Tiga Island and Rutong, two famous spots for snorkeling before you heading back to Riung.

Day 4: Riung – Bajawa

Exploring Bajawa on the fourth day of your Flores Island tour, you will be treated with spectacular views of Inerie Mountain while dipping your body in So’a’, a natural hot spring with abilities to heal skin problems. Not only that but the hot spring is also believed to make people look younger for a longer time. Another popular main attraction in Bajawa is Bena Village. Here, you will mingle with local people while learning more about the way of life and cultures of the villagers. Then, you will back to Bajawa to stay overnight in a hotel of your option.

Day 5: Bajawa – Ruteng

Start your fifth day of the tour by having breakfast at your hotel and then head to Aimere Village. It is a traditional village that is popular with its local alcoholic drink product. The alcohol drinks are made of palm juice and have been a favorite of many tourists. Then, you will continue the trip to Ruteng with some stops like Rana Mese Lake. It is a natural cater lake that is situated deep in a dense. Another nice stop on your way to Ruteng is Robo that offers you breathtaking views of traditional rice terraces. Arriving at Pu’u Village in Ruteng, you will have a chance to shop at handicrafts at the local market and stay overnight in a hotel there.

Day 6: Ruteng – Wae Rebo

On the sixth day of the tour, you will see Lodok in Cancar Village right just after breakfast. It is large rice fields with a round shape that will remind you of a giant spider web. Then, you will be driven to Denge Village through Narang Village. This is the last village that can be reached by car if you want to go to Wae Rebo. From Denge, you need to take a trekking path to WaeRebo for about 3 hours and stay in a guest house there for the night.

Day 7: WaeRebo – Labuan Bajo

After having breakfast at a guesthouse in Wae Rebo, you will get a chance to go around the traditional village. In this award-winning traditional village by UNESCO, you can interact with local people who still hold the old traditions and cultures of their ancestors strongly. Trekking down back, there will be a car waits for you in Dengue Village to take you to Labuan Bajo through Lembor Village. You will stop at some great spots to take pictures along the way to Labuan Bajo and arrive at your hotel in the afternoon. That’s the end of your tour to Flores Island.
