Day 1: Maumere/Ende – Moni

Choose a pickup point at a hotel or airport in either Maumere or Ende in East Flores. We’ll drive you to Moni Village, where you’ll spend the night. From a cheap backpacker option to a more luxurious one, you can find any kind of accommodation here, so just pick one that suits you best.

The Moni Village is located at the feet of the Kelimutu Volcano. Before resting for tomorrow’s activities, walk around the area to enjoy the fresh air and see the nearby waterfall.

Day 2: Moni – Riung 17 Islands

In the early morning, you’ll be taken on a 1-hour drive to Kelimutu Volcano. A 45-minute trek to the summit will grant you the magnificent view of the famous Lake Kelimutu. This lake is a wonderful natural phenomenon with three colors, turquoise, brown, and black, due to dissolved minerals in the lake. After that, you’ll head back to the hotel for breakfast. Then, you’ll head to Ende and Riung at the northern coast. There are many great stops along this long drive, including the Panggajawa Beach. Day 3: Full Day Excursion in Riung 17 Islands Marine Park

Day 4: Riung Islands – Bajawa

The first is the So’a’ Hot Spring. You can take a bath and relax in the soothing hot water. The spring is located at the feet of a giant banyan tree. Additionally, the water is said to be able to cure certain skin conditions.

There is also the Bena Village, where the traditional way of life has not changed in hundreds of years. You can even see well-preserved structures dating back from the Megalithic era here.

Day 5: Bajawa – Ruteng

The first stop for the day is the Aimere Village. This village is famous for the locally produced Moke, an alcoholic drink made of palm juice. You can bring some home too. Next, you’ll see Rana Mese, a beautiful crater lake, and the Robo viewpoint where you can see a vista of lush rice terraces.

The final stop for the day is Ruteng, a quaint town in Manggarai. Once you get to Ruteng, you should check out the local market for things to bring home. Also pay a visit to Pu’u Village, a place where the local people still carry out the ancient ancestral ways of life. End the day with a good night’s sleep at your chosen accommodation.

Day 6: Ruteng – Labuan Bajo

After having breakfast and checking out of your hotel, you’ll be taken on a drive to GoloCuru Hill. Decorated with portrayals of the passion of Christ, this spectacular hill is a place where the Catholic people of Ruteng pray nearing Easter. Not only that, but you can enjoy a majestic view of the entire town, especially its green rice terraces.

The next destination is Cancar Village, home to the famous Lodok. Lodok is a term for the arrangement of rice fields which resemble a giant spider’s web. This view can’t be found anywhere else in the world, so get your camera ready to capture it.
